Excargo celebrates Earth Day 2023
While Excargo has consistently given back to the Houston community for decades, Excargo Cares was an initiative created in 2021 to officially state a mission and program for our team to give back their knowledge, time, and resources with their own communities. We do this by cultivating relationships with industry partners and associations, keeping up with our local Chamber of Commerce and community centers, as well as inquire with our own team about what causes are important to them.
In April 2022, we partnered with the Adopt a Highway program to sponsor 2 pieces of Texas highway. Our first sign is near Hwy 146 between Bayport and Barbours Cut container terminal and the second is on Hwy 225 in Pasadena just before the exit to Flying J Travel Center. The Adopt a Highway program has helped the Department of Transportation and other government agencies offset the costs of roadside litter-removal and beautification. Collaboratively throughout Texas, thousands of miles of roadway have been cleaned, and millions of pounds of litter removed.
While we are known to be terrestrial snails, we still support our ocean community by donating to the Ocean Cleanup on behalf of our team and our customers each year. The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organization with the mission to eliminate plastic in all oceans worldwide by developing and implementing technologies to rid our waterways of waste.
This Earth Day Team Excargo wore green and blue to celebrate our planet! While spending time this weekend outside with your families, commit to cleaning up 10 pieces of trash instead of walking by and ignoring it. Encourage the younger generations to do the next right thing. We have one world, and we are one team.
